Grilled salmon fillet is the perfect dish for lunch or dinner everyday. It’s easy and quick to prepare and incredibly delicious. You can prepare salmon filet in many different ways and it turns out particularly well when grilled on your O.F.B. Through the high temperatures the salmon gets a golden crust and stays juicy in the center. If you like your salmon rather well done you can let it rest in the bottom of the grill for some minutes.
Ingredients
  • 4 salmon fillets
  • Sea salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
Serves 4
  • 4 tbsp unsalted, softened butter
  • 1/2 tbsp Baharat blend
  • 1/2 tbsp salt

    • 3 tbsp black peppercorns
    • 2 tbsp coriander seeds
    • 2 tbsp cumin seeds
    • 1 tsp cardamom seeds
    • 1/2 tsp whole cloves
    • 2 tbsp sweet paprika
    • 1/2 tbsp ground nutmeg
    Step 1

    Prepare the Baharat spice blend

Use a mortar to crush the spices (alternatively, a kitchen machine may help) and mix them well. You can also use a ready-made spices mix or vary the ingredients. There are no limits to your taste! Mix the spices with the softened butter and add some salt. Put the compound butter in the fridge so that it gets hard again.

    Step 2

    Season the salmon

Season the salmon fillets with some salt and pepper.

    Step 3

    Grill the salmon fillets

Heat up your O.F.B. Place the salmon fillets on the cast iron grid. If the salmon still has its skin (which is super tasty!), start with that side. Grill the salmon for about one minute, so that the skin gets a golden brown color. Turn the salmon and grill it from the other side. Depending on the thickness of the filet, let it rest in the bottom part of the grill for some minutes, you can cover it with a bit of aluminum foil so that it doesn’t burn. We like it when the salmon has a nice crust and is opaque from the outside but is still a bit glassy from the inside. Check out the short video above to see how to grill the salmon.

    Step 4

    Serve and enjoy!

Serve the grilled salmon with the spicy Baharat butter. As a side, you can serve rice (which will absorb the melted Baharat butter) or simply a salad. Each fork is a taste explosion!
